Communication

Mrs Marshall and the Governors' of St Patrick's School are keen for parents to feel involved in school life and we want to make sure your children are happy and doing well.

One important way of ensuring this is by keeping in touch. School is a very busy place and sometimes it is hard to juggle all the demands on teachers' time. We hope it will be helpful if we let you know how we can keep in touch, and what to do if you have a worry concerning your child.

Our communication channels are:

  • Monthly newsletters and 'texts to parents' to keep you informed of school news.
  • Parents evenings are held twice a year and are a great opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress and raise any concern's with your child's teacher.
  • The office staff will pass on messages to teachers or children, hand over forgetten items etc.
  • Class assemblies, masses, sports events and school productions gives your child the opportunity to show you what they have been learning.
  • If you have any concerns you can make an appointment to see the class teacher. This is normally best done at the end of the school day. If you feel that this matter is matter is not been dealt with satisfactory please make an appointment to speak to the Head Teacher or Deputy Head.

Our school is a place of learning and children are our priority. It is very difflicult for teachers to meet with you between 8.45-3.30. In the case of a very urgent matter which cannot be left until the end of the school day, please come to the school office.

If you have any suggestions or would like to share any ideas you have on how we can improve our school. Please feel free to complete the slip and post in our suggestion box.  The Governors' and staff are happy to hear from you.
