In Key Stage 2

Through a variety of creative and practical activities, pupils should be taught the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to engage in an iterative process of designing and making. They should work in a range of relevant contexts.”

Through a range of different and exciting projects, each class will apply technical knowledge in order to design, make and evaluate a range of products from Moving Pictures and Wind-up Toys in Year 1 to making Tree Houses and Greek Theatres in Year 6!

Update: As a whole school, we have launched a fantastic new project to enhance our DT and Science knowledge and skills.

KS1- build structures, exploring how they can be made stronger, stiffer and more stable and KS2 - apply their understanding of how to strengthen, stiffen and reinforce more complex structures by using from and use a wider range of materials and components, including construction materials, textiles and ingredients, according to their functional properties.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates on this on this webpage.

1. We launched our New Project! BRIDGESSSSS!

2. We have been exploring how to make structures strong by trying to build the tallest spaghetti tower!

Next, we will be designing and making the strongest bridge structure we can. There will be a whole school finale for the strongest bridges in 3 weeks' time!
